Rift, Rupture, Split

Rift, Rupture, Split is a series of recordings by way of photography, video, and sound that bears witness to the demolition of Division 1 at the largest single-site jail in the country, Cook County Jail in Chicago. This limited selection of images marks some of the documentation and experiments I have been recording during the summer of 2021 and into fall 2021. Initiated by the desire to imagine how abolition shows up through material and immaterial means, this work in progress captures both sonic and visual manifestations, as well as other-worldly portals and black holes.
